S05E20: Perthetic

The hangover from the derby included a 4-0 and a 2-0 loss to Urawa and Perth respectively. Needless to say, the joy after our first win in Homebush was short lived, and we get to thinking about what we, as fans and consumers of this product, expect from the club we support.

With a tough game against Shanghai and then returning to play bottom placed Adelaide, it could be a long couple of months leading to the end of the season – unless things change for the better.

S05E06: Not Perthect

A point away from home that felt hard earned, rather than 2 points lost, was a new feeling for us Wanderers fans this week, and it involved the quintessential Santalab experience – a goal and a yellow card.

We look towards our next fixture, away against Melbourne Victory, and what we’ll need to do to stop the Kiwi Messi, the Albanian Salesman and the eerie sound of silence coming from where the home fans used to stand.

S04E12: Westivus

The Wanderers couldn’t keep their winning streak going but 22 points from 8 games is still a mean feat performed without defeat, Steve wonders where everyone will be during our Christmas Eve game against the jets, and Turner brings sound effects to the table that would make Bill and Marty blush.

All this on the podcast that’s as organised, and as pretty as, a Wanderers set piece – Around The Bloc

S03E23: Bloc, Rocket, Beats

It was another mixed week for Wanderers fans, firstly obtaining all 3 points against Brisbane in one of their highest wins ever, and then heading to the West Coast for an unfortunate loss. The travelling RBB did their best to show the Perth fans how it’s done, and despite the loss on the field, it was a clear cut contest who won off it.

We do have the ACL to look forward to in the next week, as well as a match against Melbourne City who we’ve beaten recently – if history repeats, this could be our most successful fortnight of the season!

S03E07: Min. Power

Well, the Wanderers lost again this week – but given the team line up, is there anything really to worry about? The attitudes of the team and fans alike are positive, but some improvement has to be on the cards.

We found that the podcast needed some improving too, so we introduce Question of the Week on this show, and I give a long, detailed history of podcasting which I’m sure is going to be as much fun for you to listen to as I had telling it, and I didn’t even insult anyone in the process. Well, I don’t think I did – I’ll keep an eye on twitter though. There’s that, W-League, Youth League, Nikminnit and all the other stuff on this weeks episode of Around the Bloc.

S02E20: Dynamic Duo

And then there were two. With most members of the team missing, the dynamic duo of Steve and Brendan bring you this week’s podcast which is more exciting than a backup goalie’s debut.

It was a perfect start to a long run of games for the Wanderers, and with the ACL looming, we turn our attention to the failings of Brisbane Roar and William Gallas. We give credit where credit’s due, though, to everyone’s favourite Wanderers player, Jerrad Tyson (as quoted in The Guardian), and our resident Spanish commentator has something special for him too.
