S05E23: Corn With It

Captain Cornthwaite was pretty close to repeating Santa’s three goal haul as the Wanderers picked up a third win in a row against the Jets. With a new found momentum, enthusiasm and ability to actually find the back of the net, will Popa’s words about winning the grand final be replayed more often than ‘Holy Diver’ during A-League ad breaks, or simply become another forgotten soundbyte?

S05E15: Lach’d & Loaded

WSW Youth prodigy Lachlan Scott has scored his first A-League goal (his 3rd in competitive top tier fixtures at Campbelltown) and, along with a spine of other WSW youth, helped us along to our first win in what feels like a lifetime. And while Nova lost his lid, and the lack of EFTPOS facilities at Campbelltown was the difference between Kennedy having a delicious chicken roll and going hungry, the ground remains a fortress for WSW who have now won 3 out of 3 competitive fixtures there.

A visit to Brisbane looms, and while Lang Park is a similarly tough place to beat the home team, the travelling RBB will be out in full force on their tour of duty.

S05E04: Finders (New) Keepers

The talking points weren’t exactly positive after our first game at the showground, after letting a 2 goal lead quite literally slip through our fingers, ending up with just a point.

With that behind us though, we return to our new Wanderland this Saturday for a game against a team we should beat… Should.

S04E24: Pod Depth

After a 1-0 win that put us into the ACL spots, which would give us a week off in the finals, do you feel like cancelling your season ticket?

Some fans might, but the rest of us will be there to watch our toughest contest yet against Adelaide, and the ATB team produces some word play that nobody in their right mind would be proud of – but that’s what you get when you listen to Around the Bloc.

S04E13: The Win Before Xmas

It’s that weird time of year when we can never remember what day it is, but Western Sydney are churning through results like clockwork having gone a third of the season undefeated.
We confidently look forward to our next game against Adelaide, and also run through some of your New Years football resolutions, on this episode of Around the Bloc

S03E22: You’re Coming Down With Us

Another week, another winless run of games, another lot of injuries, and another journo getting his facts wrong. Not much has changed in Wanderland since our last show, although when we say we want to see the youth, Popa listens. This coming week though, we stray further from home than Ante Covic with trips to Brisbane and Perth, and with not much to play for, we can only hope to ruin their seasons instead.

In other news, Turner talks transfers, we all talk DIY, and ATB starts posting pictures of food, trees and our freshly painted toenails on our brand new instagram account.

S03E17: Premature Celebration

Normally scoring should make you happy, but after we came… to Newcastle with high expectations, we left disappointed after a major anti-climax. It was a case of no glove, no love, as an equalising penalty was slotted past Covic and instead of a W, we ended up with a D.

There‚Äôs heaps of feedback from the listeners this week, Nick explains how he manages to actually research for the podcast whilst still being a superstar drummer in La Banda, and we realise that even clubs in absolute turmoil can still do social media better than those who aren’t

S02E21: La Banda-ing Together

A huge episode this week as two members of the RBB’s band, La Banda, join us to share their opinions on all the on and off the pitch happenings, which they drum into us, and are generally bass’d on their experiences in the RBB. Having been one of the cymbals of the active supporter group since day 1, they try not to repinique themselves as they recall how they formed, how the chants come together, and why they, for some reason, love Tom-Tomi Juric.

Also on the show……………………………………………….. thats right – the silent protest. We delve into the why, the who, what, when, the where and the how, as we were all grabbing our hair and tearing it out wondering what the hell was going on.

Sit back, relax and drop it like it’s hot – this is Around the Bloc

S02E17: Mid-Air Collision

Unlike the FFA, Around the Bloc does actually appreciate it’s fans, and this week we’ve rectified our premature evacuation of the podcast studio from last week and we’re back to our regular episode length.

The Wanderers went up the Freeway to Newcastle, and after 2 amazing strikes and 2 dubious goals, came away with a point from a 2-all draw. Feeling more blue than a speech from Joel Griffiths, the RBB travelled to the W-League and National Youth League double header in modest numbers and were unfortunate not to see a point from those games.

The foreigners cop it in ATB Feedback this week, the ATB boys are left Mullen over the new signings, such as Antony Golec who is my new Wanderers brother, and Golgol who is Mehbratu.

S02E11: Three Wise Men

The RBB followed their stars up the road for anything but a silent night in Newcastle. On this week’s podcast, three wise men discuss whether Mark Bridge’s goal was the result of a push in the back, or an immaculate deflection off Haliti’s head, if Birighitti should have been told ‘theres no more room at the inn’, and how the little drummer boy broke his instrument.

In other news, Perth do away with their man(a)ger, ATBFeedback turns into a celebratory feast and the W-League team goes on their merry way to record a win against the Glory. All this and more on this weeks edition of Around the Bloc.
