S03E27: Out Of Our Misery

That’s it for another season – there were tough times, injuries, bust-ups, people turning on each other, swearing at each other, people leaving due to poor conditions… and that’s just the podcast.

The team finished on a bitter-sweet note however, winning against Guangzhou but losing out to yet another injury time winner which just happened to be at another game in another country. Now, more than ever, we look forward to the off season, until a month down the track when we all miss the A-League and want it to come back.

But that’s football, and this is Around the Bloc.

S03E20: For Nato

Each week, we talk about our chances against our opposition, and each week this year, bar one or two, we’ve been let down. ATBFeedback this week asks the question – should we use the rest of this season to roll the dice with our youth players, rather than tire our first team out even more? We’ve got 2 games in 3 days so is now as good a time as any to take the pressure off our increasingly fatigued seniors?

We also talk about our recent losses against Brisbane and Guangzhou, but unlike our controversy-laden Champions League game, we go far more than 17 minutes overtime.

This is Around the Bloc.

S03E19: Admit None

It was a bittersweet week for us Wanderers fans. First we scored three and won, then we scored another three and lost. Then we had chorizo, then we had the ACL ticketing fiasco – it’s been a hell of a roller coaster. On another note, with Bulut firing, the immediate future is looking slightly more positive, but what about the long term?

We discuss this at length and so much more on this episode of Around the Bloc

S02E31: ENDS

That’s it, the end of the 2013-14 season. There were highs, lows, transfers and releases, and still some potential silverware – and thats just for the podcast. The Wanderers had what, in hindsight, was a pretty successful sophomore season and are still in the running for the biggest prize on the continent – the AFC Champions League.

Thanks to everyone for listening this year. We’ll return next season with more puns, more laughs, more food talk and more #facts.

Cheers from everyone here at Around the Bloc.

S02E28: Big Trouble in Little China

2nd in the League, 1st in our group in Asia, 1st in the stands and only a win away from our second consecutive grand final appearance – That’s right, we are almost at the end of the Wanderers worst season on record. The rotation policy, the ‘we’re a squad, not a team’ mentality – it will all hopefully be out the window next year as we play in our second successive ACL campaign.

In more positive news though, we finally got those 5 goals we were looking for against Guizhou, people power prevailed in getting the semi-final kick-off moved to a more football-player-friendly time, and we give you the answer to the question that everyone is asking – is it OK to wear a beret in the RBB?

Merci pour l’écoute, c’est Autour du Bloc
